Boulder County Shooting Sports Addenda To Colorado 4-H Shooting Sports State Rule Book 2014-15

Boulder County Shoot Off Information

Archery will be held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in the Indoor Arena. The Archery competition will be Wednesday July 17, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Each participant needs to bring his/her bow, five or more arrows, arm protection, finger guard and a quiver. You may compete in both compound and recurve at the County shoot-off. If you qualify for state in both, you must pick the single class you will compete in at the State Fair. If you qualify for the State shoot-off you must supply a scorer for each shooter.  If you have any questions call Jim or Debby Hammack at 970-535-9047

Air Rifle and Air Pistol will be held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Barn A.  The Air Rifle and Air Pistol competition will be Friday July 19, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Registration starts at 2:00 p.m. and you need to be registered by 6:00 p.m.  Each participant needs to bring his/her own box of pellets, rifle/pistol, shooting mat and safety glasses. The Air Rifle/ Pistol range will be available for practice on Thursday July 18 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. If you have any questions call Mike Cook 970-532-4787

Muzzleloading will be held at the Berthoud Gun Club. The muzzleloading competition will be Saturday July 20, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. Each participant needs to bring his/her own muzzleloading rifle with powder and balls, safety glasses and ear protection. Shotgun will be held at the Berthoud Gun Club. The Shotgun competition will be on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Registration starts at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. Each participant needs to bring his/her own shotgun, at least 75 rounds of shotgun shells (shot size 7.5, 8 or 9), extra rounds for a possible tie breaker shoot-off, safety glasses and ear protection. Everyone should plan to shoot three (3) rounds and your two best scores will be used as your score. The third round will be used as the first tiebreaker.  The cost per round will be approximately $3.50. If you have any questions e-mail Michael Moschetti at moschetti8@msn.com.

.22 Rifle will be held at the Berthoud Gun Club. .22 will be on Sunday July 21, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. Each participant needs to bring his/her own rifle, .22 shells (50 rounds per event), shooting mat, safety glasses and ear protection. Skeet and 5 Stand will be held at the Great Guns Sporting, LLC in Nunn, CO, Saturday July 27, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. Each participant needs to bring his/her own shotgun, at least 25 shotgun shells per round (shot size 7.5,8 or 9) extra shells for possible tie breaker shoot off, safety glasses and ear protection. You will shoot at least 2 rounds, but may shoot 3 depending on the number of shooters and the weather conditions.  This will be determined the day of the shoot before the completion begins. The cost will be approximately $6.00 per round and we shoot up to 3 rounds of skeet and 2 rounds of 5 stand. Shooting Sports Practices ~~ Spring

Orange Practice Card

Just a reminder! In order to shoot at any of the County Shoot-Offs, each member enrolled in Shooting Sports must practice with a certified Shooting Sports project leader a minimum of three (3) times in each discipline the member plans on competing in. After each practice, the leader must initial the appropriate discipline up to three (3) practices. Upon completion of this requirement, please return the orange practice card to the Extension Office.

Orange practice cards are available from your Organizational Leader, your Project Leader or the Extension Office.
