Radon is a naturally-occurring, odorless gas that is listed as a Class “A” carcinogen.  It is the second-leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the United States, and the leading cause of lung cancer deaths in non-smokers.  The only way to determine if your home has elevated levels is to test for it.

Join us for Lunch-N-Learn programs on Radon Awareness and testing!  These classes are sponsored by CSU Extension and CDPHE.  The following classes have been scheduled:

·         January 13— Park County Fairgrounds (Fairplay), 12-1 pm

·         January 15— Salida Regional Library, 12-1 pm

·         January 27—Online Presentation, 7:00 pm (Registration for online class)

 

There is no charge for these classes, but please pre-register.  Bring your brownbag lunch with you, learn more about this indoor air hazard, and leave with a free short-term testing kit.  Classes start at Noon, and will be finished by 1:00.  To register for this class, email Kurt Jones, or call 539-6447 (Salida) or 836-4293 (Fairplay).
