How can my child get involved in a 4-H club?
To enroll in 4-H, you should be between the ages of 8 and 18.

If you would like to share your talents and enrich the lives of children in Gilpin County, please volunteer to be a 4-H leader.
What does it take to be a leader?
- Interest in young people.

Interest in communities. - Communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Good role modeling.
- Available time.
Position duties include:
- Holding regular meetings with members to guide them in their project work.
- Developing competence in projects by attending training or reading project materials.
- Passing on learning opportunity information to 4-H members.
- Many volunteers talk about the personal satisfaction they receive, recognition of their efforts, leadership skills which are developed and the influence they might have on the life of a child.
You could be:
- An organizational leader (organize a club for the year round meetings)
- A project leader (help with special interest projects such as cake decorating, model rocketry, leathercraft, or many other projects - takes less time)
