Jeffco 4-H Seedling Tree Program

 

        In Cooperation with Colorado State Forest Service Nursery

 

 

   

               Jefferson County 4-H now accepting orders for seedling trees

 

Small acreage owners qualify for low-cost seedling trees grown by the Colorado State Forest Service and distributed by Jefferson County 4-H. Ordering deadline is March 23, 2012.

 

More than 40 varieties of trees and shrubs are available. The seedlings are to be used for conservation plantings, such as reforestation, species diversification, wind and snow barriers, and wildlife habitats. They cannot be used for landscaping. The landowner must have at least two acres on which to plant the trees.

 

The trees will be available for pickup at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, W. Sixth Avenue and Indiana Street April 12-14, 2012.
